GROWING INTO THE NEXT SEASON
Galatians 4:1 (NKJV)
_“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all.”_
Galatians 4:3 (NKJV)
_“Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.”_
Life is designed around growth and progress. At every stage, there are expectations. When a child enters a new class, there are things that are expected of them. If they fail to learn what is required at that level, they will struggle with what comes next. In the same way, God expects His children to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Every season carries lessons that must be learned, and every stage of growth prepares us for greater responsibilities ahead.
There are things God desires to entrust into our hands, but He can only commit them to those who have developed the capacity to handle them. Capacity is often built through knowledge. Many believers desire greater opportunities, influence, and responsibility, yet neglect the growth that qualifies them for those things. God is not withholding blessings; He is often preparing people to manage what He intends to give them. If we do not maximize the season of learning, we may delay our entrance into the wisdom needed for the next phase of our lives.
The Scripture teaches that even though an heir is entitled to an inheritance, as long as he remains a child, he experiences limitations that are inconsistent with what belongs to him. Spiritual immaturity leaves a believer vulnerable to the influences of this world. Although we belong to God and are heirs of His promises, ignorance and lack of growth can keep us from walking in the fullness of our inheritance. This is why growth is not optional; it is necessary. God calls us to mature so that we can walk in freedom, exercise dominion, and faithfully steward all that He places in our hands.
