GUARDING THE FAMILY ALTAR

Genesis 12:2-3 (NKJV)
“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing… and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)
“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

‎One of the major battles in this generation is the attack against families. The enemy understands the power, influence, and spiritual significance of the family institution, which is why there is increasing confusion, division, dysfunction, and destruction targeted at homes. God originally designed the family as a place of love, nurture, identity, instruction, and spiritual growth through the union of father, mother, and children. However, the enemy seeks to weaken this foundation because when families are broken, societies become unstable and future generations are affected.

‎The attack against families is not random; it has a deeper spiritual agenda. In Genesis 12, when God blessed Abraham, He declared that all the families of the earth would be blessed through him. This reveals that God’s covenant blessings are designed to flow through families. Strong families preserve values, transmit faith, raise godly children, and become channels of blessing to nations. Satan fights families because he understands that healthy homes carry generational impact and kingdom influence. If the enemy can create division, confusion, bitterness, and disorder within families, he can hinder the flow of God’s purpose across generations.

‎Believers must therefore become intentional about protecting and strengthening their homes spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Families cannot thrive without prayer, love, communication, forgiveness, and godly leadership. Every member of the family has a responsibility to contribute to peace and spiritual growth within the home. The family altar must not be neglected because homes built on God’s principles become strong against the pressures of the world. As believers, we must resist every influence that seeks to redefine or destroy God’s original intention for the family.
