With Europe dorminating the finals of the FIFA world cup competition in North America, with six participants to the Africa and South America each feilding just one country, it stands to reason that statistically, Europe stands a higher chance of participating in the last match. Unfortunately, football does not follow such geometric pattern.

Since the past 22 editions of the competition, it is recorded that only 10 countries have won the cup. Records have it that these ten countries all come from South America and Europe. From the list above of the countries to have made it to the quarter finals, only Morocco from Africa is from the non champion continent.
