History and atrocities associated with it will continue repeating, if we humans refuse to mut a stop to it.
We have depleted the ozone layer, wasted our forest and virtually endangered every known animal on earth. The last man standing is mankind. Are we now turning on the vulnerable ones in our society and trying to turn them into that which we will not like to be.

Therese “Schutka” Weinrich was born on August 27, 1939, to Romani parents in Sankt Pölten, Austria. She came into the world during the Nazi occupation and never lived to see the war end.
During the Holocaust, Roma and Sinti people—often called by the old term “gypsy”—like Schutka and her family were seen as less than human. Their suffering was very similar to that of Jewish people, and between 250,000 and 500,000 Roma and Sinti were killed.
In 1942, Schutka and her family were sent to Auschwitz. When they arrived, the three-year-old was taken away from her parents and never saw them again. They were killed later.
Schutka was picked out personally by the cruel Josef Mengele as his “special pet.” She was given the camp number Z-6643.
While in the camp, Schutka suffered in awful ways. Mengele carried her around everywhere and became obsessed with hurting her. She was forced to sing and dance, made to pose for shameful photos, used in experiments, and physically harmed by him. This lasted for several months.
Soon, it seems Mengele lost interest in her. In late spring of 1943, he threw her into a furnace and watched her tiny body burn alive. She had not yet turned four years old.
Rest in peace, sweet Schutka. You will be remembered.
