Romans 12:18-21 KJV If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. [19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. [20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. [21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Christians who have the mind of Christ will pursue peace and maintain peace at all times, not Christians who do lip worship and profess they are on the Lord's side, but their heart is far away from the Creator. Wrath and vengeance or retribution belongs to God. What are the things that make up for peace and why must we strive to work in the spirit as Christians to possess peace.(1) Love is the key to peace. Christians are not to love fellow Christians only but to love all humanity irrespective of their religion. Reason being that there is but One God in whom all things and from Him all things were made. Secondly Jesus said on the cross "FATHER forgive them for they know not what they are doing" Our enemies are to be loved since they know little and don't know what to do, we that know better must apply wisdom & teach them. We are not to pray for our enemy's doom and death. It is not scriptural. (2) Tongue & Support:This play's vital role in peace how we use the tongue.Through tongues many nations has risen & also fallen just because of tongue & peace eluded. Christians must support their enemies to show example of Christ and to bring them to Christ, that's heaping a coal of fire on their head. Support is to every one in need and not to just your own members. This is walking in the footsteps of Christ, not holiness without action or fruit. (3)Evil Vs Good. God gave us a choice to choose between good & evil. Why then is it that most times people choose to do evil rather than good. The answer is in the scriptures. Search the scriptures and find it yourself, John Chapter 5 verse 39 and then go deeper why you must do good rather than evil.Judges 1 verses 6 and 7 reflects the character of an evil king Adonizedek who slaughtered/ killed seventy (70) earthly kings who ate at his table. What is your mind made of? Is it of Christ or of Adonizedek? The choice is yours. Whatever choice you are left with, God will always avenge or fight for the righteous against the enemy. It is not in your place to fight but to ask that God's will be done in the life of an enemy. Blessings
