Psalm 6:6,9 KJV I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. [9] The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.
This is David praying to God for the challenges he had. David’s challenge was different from that of Job and other personalities in the scriptures. David is human and even though Jesus came from his lineage and David was a man after God’s heart and a great warrior yet he didn’t take prayer for granted. In verse nine of psalm six God heard his prayer and is affirmed by him and confirmed by the Lord. As believer’s, what do we learn from this David’s prayer?
(1)We must learn to pray as David did.
(2) David always encouraged himself in the Lord. Encouragement from others will help but little, but your inner mind spirit supersedes that of the external.
(3) You must be ready to execute what you prayed for. God will not come down from heaven to do it for you. God heard his prayer but the resources you need to actualize it, God already put them in place on earth.
(4) David said, He received my prayer. Believer’s who depend on other’s for their prayers to be answered rather than the Lord are Gentiles and idol worshipers. This does not negate praying together or some one praying for you in secret as Jesus thought & Apostle Paul affirmed in his epistle when he said he should be prayed for.The idol worship in prayer is believing man & putting your faith in him unknowingly rather than the eternal word of God which livery and abideth forever .
(5)Believers must stand out in the salvation they have just like David and render to God their services. They must not engage in the two negative aspect of David’s life.
Today if you have been blessed by this word of God, Draw near to God & He will respond and draw near to you, only if you decide to let go the burden of sin.
