It is now news that The Duke and Dutchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Megan Markle visited Nigeria on the invitation of the Nigerian military.
If there is any political, diplomatic or military reason for this visit, this has not been made known to the public. However, it is on record that this visit, just like the lives and times of this couple has been bedecked with controversies. While the Nigerians in the street have complained that while the government is using resources that should have been utilized to help that nations economy that dangerously on the edge of toppling right over to entertain royalties and continue with their ravish lifestyle, the British monarchy including Prine Harry’s father and brother stated categorically that the visit has nothing whtsoever to do with the British government or the royal house.
This obviously has not affected the visiting couple anyways as they are bent of having a good time in this visit to Nigeria. Entertainment include royal visitations and banquettes, sports, military activities, visit to schools and traditional activities and others.

A particular chietain of Igbo extraction, The King of the Ancient Kingdom of Arochukwu His Royal Majesty (HRM) Eze Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Aro IX of Arochukwu Kingdom granted her the recognition of granted to a daughter of the kingdom, Ada Mazi.
His Royal Majesty (HRM) Eze Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom, was among revered traditional rulers and other distinguished Nigerians who had the honour of interacting with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at a private event.
The event, which was held on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the Delborough Hotel, Lagos, was by courtesy of the Defence Headquarters, Nigeria Ministry of Defence, Abuja.
Other traditional rulers who graced the occasion include the Obi of Onitsha HM Igwe Alfred Achebe and the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwaste III. Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Spain, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu was also among the guests.
The invite is aimed at familiarizing the Royal couple with Nigeria’s rich-socio cultural heritage and equally provide a favourable platform for the Duchess of Sussex to connect with her deep Nigerian ancestry.
Additionally, it would further boost Nigeria’s interest to host the Invictus Games in 2027 and enhance the proposal to site the Invictus Center in Nigeria, support the wounded, injured and sick soldiers amongst others.
