LIKE THE ANGELS

‎Matthew 22:30 (NKJV)
‎ _“For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.”_

‎Jude 1:6 (KJV)
‎ _“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”_

‎When Jesus said that in the resurrection we will be like the angels, He revealed something profound about our eternal state. Angels do not marry or reproduce because there is no need for procreation in heaven. They are innumerable and complete in number. Likewise, when we are raised in glory, our earthly nature, including our sexuality will be transformed. We will put on immortality, becoming like the angels in form and purity. Marriage, which serves a divine purpose on earth, will have fulfilled its assignment.

‎The angels who “kept not their first estate” (Jude 1:6) refer to those who abandoned their God-given positions, leading to their downfall. Yet, in God’s mercy, the spaces they left will not remain empty. In the kingdom to come, believers will inherit heavenly territories, realms once occupied by disobedient angels. This shows that God does not allow any loss in His kingdom; what is forfeited by rebellion becomes the inheritance of the righteous.

‎Heaven is not an abstract idea; it is a glorious reality for every believer. Jesus promised that many will sit with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 8:11). There will be joy, fellowship, and divine purpose, but no marriage between angels or men. Our gaze should be heavenward, yet our hands must remain diligent on earth. Knowing about our heavenly future should strengthen our walk on earth, shaping our decisions, values, and worship today.
