But, Yeh shall receive power

Two foolish African boys were selling drugs in the streets of a European city. One of them Akpo, was about to visit Africa. His friend Omo,gives him some money, asking him Please Akpo meet that babalawo who makes juju for us, let him make some concoction for me. The police are harassing me too much. Let the juju drive them away from me.

Akpo travels to Africa, however in the heat of the activities at home he totally forgot his friend and his request.

It was when he returned to Europe that he remembered his friends request. Immediately he runs to a nearby village market and buys a live chicken. Making a bundle of green leaves which he ties with red strips of clothe, he kills the chicken and sprays the blood all over the bundle. Then he sticks some chicken feathers onto the package.

He then calls his friend, Hey omo, didn’t you hear l am back, please come and collect this your thing, it is burning holes in my traveling bag.

Omo comes and collects. Two days later he calls his friend. Akpo, you are a great friend. Chai, this otumokpo is too much. Do you know that now the police pass me without seeing me. I don become invisible to them. I dey even sell market in their presence, they no dey say fiam. Old boy, this  thing dey work wonderfully.

The message here is that if this foolish boy can believe so much in the nonsense he is holding in his pocket, what about us who have the ultimate power.

Jesus said All power has been given unto me … Matthew 26:18

Acts 1:8 tells us, But, ye shall receive power…

He had told us earlier that even greater things than him we should do. Only if we believe. And these signs shall follow those who believe … Mark 16:17.

We were told that we shall decree a thing and it will be established. Why are these things not working in us. Try it. Read the Scriptures, pray, tell someone about Jesus, try these your powers and you will be impressed with the powers God has endowed you with.

God bless us as we believe totally in Him, in Jesus’ name.
