Something is happening in Abia state that is starting to look like a gubernetarial election precidence in about to be set, in the eastern part of Nigeria. I do not want to expand my claim to the whole of Nigeria, for I do not have such verified fact.
It has never happened in the political scene of our part of the country, that opposing politicians seem to be shy or cowed to pitch their tents against the incumbent governor of Abia state, Mazi Alex Otti.
Even, strong politicians in the opposing camps who have taken powerful battle stances, flexed their political, financial and connection muscles, seem now to be be overtly backing away, or really backing down.
What really is going on?
Some of us, across the seas are all braced up for a battle royale for the soul of Abia state. But, suddenly, all sheilds, swords, lanves spears and matchets are down. And all seem to be quiet on the Abia state sector.
If, this is not politics, one would have said that it is the lull before the storm. That this is a false silence. That the opposition would soon come charging. But, alas and alas, politicasand the associate elections does not work like that. There is a sequence to things. Schedules, timings, programes. If one misses one, the whole wall of cards will come crashing down.
The facts that certain opposition giants have registered to contest in other aspects of the upcoming election, creates the impression that the Abia state incumbent governor, Alex otti, is cruising home. Almost unoppsed.
Well, here I say, Why Not? The Igbos say, na ahia di nma na ere onwe ya. Yes, one does not need to over advertise a good product. It practically sells it self.
When one considered how far Abia had fallen, and quargmire Otti has to dig us out from, one will think that any Abia loving son or daughter will want him to continue with the wonderful work he is doing. Who in his right mind changes a winniung team?
Abia state is now shining. Please, let it continue to shine. We have tasted sour soup and now tasting well cooked ofe okazi, and we knoiw which is better.

Ochi chi gi di anyi nma. May you not stumble along the path of leadership. The opponents of a good leader can’t help but admire him. I guess that is what is happening in Abia state presently. Your opponents are not cowards, they simply admit that you are doing excellently well.
