Abia State Governor Alex Otti has appointed Nwankwo Kanu, the skipper that led the Super eagles of Nigeria to many a glorious and victorious outings including the memorable Olympic gold cup of 1996 in Atlanta USA, to help maintain the glory of Enyimba.
Kanu was appointed on Monday as the supervisor of the reigning Nigeria Premier League champions.
Otti assured the former Super Eagles star of maximum support to achieve success on the job.
“We want to see Enyimba shine on the continental and global stage again,” Otti said during Kanu’s unveiling in Aba.
“You have the support of our government and the teeming fans of this great club.”
Kanu replaced Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who was in charge of the People’s Elephant for over two decades.
The Aba giants won their record ninth title last season.
