Winnifred Uloaka Gilliard is the Founder & CEO of The AfrikaFora. She is a renowned event curator, and has co-organised some successful events among them:
- 1st Nigeria/South African Cultural Day, in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1997, an event that promoted Nigeria and South Africa’s collaboration at a time when tension was running high between both countries;
- Paris International Agricultural Show, in 2020, aimed at showcasing Nigerian agriculturists and agricultural products at the biggest agricultural event in Europe.
More recently, she founded The AfrikaFora, formerly AfricaFora, to showcase Black and African creativity, culture and trade, worldwide. Winifred is very passionate about her visions for Africa and enjoins you to reach out if you share her passion of an independent, self-sufficient and peaceful Africa. She is an international Coach Federation (ICF) ACSTH certified Life Coach from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), specialised in Expatriate family and Intercultural life coaching. She is a graduate of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Nigeria; Crux Management School, South Africa, and University of Bournemouth England. She is a mother; wife; the winner of The Voice Achievers Award 2023, and a Princess of the Ihie-Iyi Ancient Kingdom in Abia State, Nigeria.
A passionate African, Winifred has created the following annual events to honour her roots:
- Nzuko Africa is one of the many channels of change of The AfrikaFora. It is an annual hybrid event that brings together, Africans (continentals and descendants), and their friends, during the commemoration of Africa Day. We pride ourselves in telling the African narrative with an aim to rewriting the relationship (economic, human and professional) between Africa and the world; We showcase Africa’s human talents and treasures, their creations, inventions and innovations, as well as celebrating the people and their traditions.
- Ikenga Day – A European Igbo Festival, is a platform where Ndigbo (continentals & descendants), and their friends come together annually to display and celebrate their culture and traditions, as well as take a retrospective look at themselves and homeland and define ways to promote community development projects.
- Nigeria Week – Wazobia: promotes Nigeria’s cultural heritage: a forum to ponder on issues that bring Nigerians together, to promote peace, unity and security as well as showcase our rich and diverse economic and cultural heritage.
- Asampete 2026 – celebrating the Black and African Woman. Itis an annual event that honours the African (continental and descendant) woman. It promotes women’s causes, and achievements to the society. And highlights beauty according to African standards. It holds on the occasion of the Pan-African Woman’s Day celebration.
