Diaspora Heartdrops
They toil through the day
Wishing for a worthy pay
Come night with the beasts they lay
On the itchy bales of hay
Yet morning they rise bright and gay
the sun greeting them as one cheerful ray
as they line up at the quay
to work the chain gang at the bay
singing happy songs about Hawker Jay
Freedom has come at last they say
It is once again the month of May
When they remember those who fought for the Way
Against those for Freedom who said nay
