Leo Walta believes he can bring his spectacular goalscoring form to the Championship after swapping the Swedish top flight for Swansea City.

‎Walta joined Swansea from Allsvenskan club Sirius on transfer deadline day.

‎And while the Finland midfielder accepts he must “adapt quickly” to the English second tier, Walta is convinced he will score goals for his new club.

‎”I think so,” the 22-year-old said when asked if he can replicate his form in front of goal in south Wales.

‎”It’s something that I’ve been practising my whole life so I hope I’m able to bring it also in Swansea.”

‎Walta was signed on an initial loan deal, though the expectation is that his move will be made permanent come July.

‎At the back end of the mid-season transfer window, head coach Vitor Matos targeted an attacking midfielder capable of making a difference in the final third and Swansea struck a deal with Sirius.

‎Walta had caught the eye by scoring 17 goals during the 2025 season in Sweden.

‎”I was happy I was able to score that many goals and it’s always been one of my skills, good shots and passes,” Walta said.

‎Sirius’ season ended in November, with the club back in pre-season and preparing for the 2026 campaign when Walta said his farewells.

‎He made his Swansea debut as a substitute in last Sunday’s comprehensive win over Sheffield Wednesday having not played since the November international break, when he made two appearances for Finland.
