A 32-year-old man fatally shot in Sheffield has been named by police.
Kassim Mohammed was killed following the incident on Watery Street, Upperthorpe, just after 22:00 BST on Tuesday 8th of October 2025
In a statement released by South Yorkshire Police, Mr Mohammed’s family said he would “leave a void in our hearts that will never be filled”.
“Kassim was a devoted young father, a loving son, and a kind, family-orientated man, whose caring nature touched everyone around him,” they added.
A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder earlier on Thursday remained in custody, the force said, their investigation into the shooting is continuing.
Officers have appealed for anyone with relevant dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage to come forward.
