It is a very disheatening, the story of Ihube in the Okigwe local government area of Imo state Nigeria.
A most vibrant clan where we used to go and drink palm wine in the 80s, when Ngozi Ogbu was the Local Government chairman. His elder brother Ndukwe Ogbu a very successful business his elder brother was and still is our pal. Now, because of these criminal, gun, weilding monsters who kill without reason, Ihube has become a desolate place, taken over and now inhabitted by these bandits. They have ransacked the community and killed so many, including Eze Paul Ogbu, Hon Ngozi Ogbus uncle, whom stories have it that they killed and ate his flesh.

In a statement released on Thursday, Henry Okoye, the police public relations officer for the Imo State Command, confirmed the incident. He revealed that Ogbu was saved on Wednesday night, but security forces are still looking for the perpetrators of the kidnapping.Â
According to reports, Hon. Ogbu was kidnapped after visiting the gang’s camp in an attempt to negotiate peace so that he could bury a deceased relative without being harassed. The group took money from him but still held him captive and transported him farther into the woods, thereby breaking their promise.Â
Earlier, the kidnappers, under the leadership of the infamous Gentle the Yahoo and his lieutenant, Angel Make Up, had posted a video showing the lawmaker in their custody. Ogbu was marched and compelled in the video to beg the authorities to pull security forces out of Okigwe, especially from the “White House” base, which is located in the city. The kidnappers, who are thought to be members of IPOB/ESN, threatened to kill him in four days if their demands were not met.
Negotiating with BanditsÂ
Why the government and the security agencies in Nigeria have left the security situation in the country to degenerate and detoriorate to such a lowly level in which ordinary citizens are forced to enter the den of these criminal animals to negitiate for one issue or the other.
The truth of the story is that if Ngozi Ogbu an ordinary civilian knows where these bandits are, then the security should know where they are.
Are they killed, on the run or captured
The Nigerian Army, however, raided the gang’s lair in Aku, Okigwe, in a quick commando-style assault. Gentle the Yahoo, Angel Make Up, and many other members of the gang were killed during the raid. The operation resulted in the release of over a dozen prisoners, including Hon. Ngozi Ogbu.
Another version of this story from other media sources insist that they were captured while the beginning of this tale insists that they are on the run. Which is the truth?
Officials have guaranteed that security forces are still dedicated to eradicating criminal elements from Imo State and reestablishing peace in the area.
