Tehran — In a bold defiance of international oversight, Iran has officially expelled International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi from any future engagement with its nuclear program and has dismantled all surveillance systems installed at its nuclear facilities.
The announcement came Saturday from Hamid Reza Haji Babaei, vice speaker of Iran’s parliament, who confirmed the government’s immediate decision to sever all cooperation with the IAEA, accusing the agency of enabling foreign espionage through its monitoring infrastructure.
“We have dismissed Mr. Grossi’s authority and expelled the IAEA from our nuclear equation. The cameras are gone, and Iran will no longer be a playground for hostile intelligence under the guise of international law,” Haji Babaei declared on national television.
