On 27 June 2021, Nnamdi Kanu was allegedly arrested in Kenya or possibly another location by Interpol and extradited to Nigeria where he is supposed to face trial. However, Interpol in 2023 denied any involvement in the arrest. Kanu’s brother claimed that he had been arrested by the Kenyan police. The continued detention of this young man in the is now going to its fifth year. Within this period, he has been in court several times. It is a nown fact that the court has stated that the method of arrest of this young man is illegal. It is a known fact that the allegations against him has been squashed by the court which has asked that he be set free. Yet, he is still being held captive by the federal government of Nigeria;
