There has been some confusion today in Umuahia, around Mission Hill, that’s from Okpara Square towards Abia Tower/Expressway.
There have been some shootings and killing of a Policeman and the driver of a Chinese man in a kidnap or robbery attempt of the China man.
An eye witness said the boys who carried out the attack were dressed only in boxer shorts and T-shirts. They chased the vehicle carrying a Chinese man, with his military escort until they got to the front of the Prison’s Office at Mission Hill, where they opened fire on them and shot and killed the Mobile Policeman and mortally wounded the driver who  who reports getting to the Scope News later died of his injuries.
The foreigner it was reported managed to escape in the heat of the exchange but the assailants made away with the valuables in the vehicle which included some money and fled before the soldiers could arrive.
The whole area has been cordoned off. But, the pandemonium spilled over to Isi gate and even Aba Road.

This is in the wake of vandalism and razing of the police post in Apumiri Ubakala, the Head Quarters of the Umuahia South Local Government Area in the very early hours of Sunday past.

Is this a passing phase or a pattern.

The question in the mouth of very worried, nay extremely frightened NIgerians is, What is the government doing about these daring, dare devil brazen attacks and bloody robberies. From all indication, no one is safe.

Is this an informed job or just random. How did the robbers know that the group was carrying money? Or is it a kidnap attempt that turned to a bloody robbery?

Where are these guns emanating from? The greater concern here being that these thieves now have no fear nor respect for the military boys or constituted authorities. Some call them Unkwn Gun men, Sme call them Kidnappers, Bandits, Boko Haram, ISWAP and the list of gun totting trigger happy criminala in Nigeria continues growing longer and longer every day.

The Scope News will keep us all up to speed as this current state of affairs develop.’
