The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria General Muhamadu Buhari and his vice, Yemi Osibanjo openly received jabs of the Covid 19 vaccines Saturday 2nd March. This is in a bid, to convince, the Nigerians, especially as reasonable number of the citizens of that great nation are doubtful of the safety of the vaccine, as critics of this vaccine are most active especially in the social media.
www.thescopenews.com says that as the president’s health issues is public knowledge this display of bravado of taking an unproven vaccine publicly is quite suspicious or on the other hand simply fool hardy. That is if the whole drama is for real. According to the Nigerian public, how do we know it is not some safe liquid that has been injected into the two most powerful men in the land and we are being told it is Covid 19 vaccination. So, what if the injection now has adverse reaction on both of them? Nigeria ends up with no leadership. Is that not crazy. It leaves a lot to be desired.
However, on the flip side, the action is quite encouraging to the nations public and the flagging confidence on this government.
We sincerely pray that the vaccine is safe and nothing untoward happens to the two of our heads. God protect us all.
The presidency has however, responded to worries about the state of health of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo after they received the COVID-19 vaccine.
The duo publicly took the vaccine on Saturday.
In a statement, presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, said the President felt normal and went about his daily affairs.
Shehu dispelled fears and misconceptions about the safety of the vaccine.
He said if there are side effects that followed, the federal government would be open about it.
“So far there is nothing of a side effect, serious or mild on the President. He is carrying on as normal.
“We hope this will help to send a strong message among the people, especially those grappling with hesitancy about the efficacy and safety of the vaccine”, Shehu added.
However, there is a lot of reactions to this action. While some, which actually constitute the majority view the entire drama with over sceptism, others hail the two leaders for their brazen action.
Investigation by the Scope News has revealed that this action has convinced a lot of some of the doubting Nigerians that the vaccine is safe to take.
