One Day, One Word
As a child l was always getting into neighbourhood and street fights. However, some thing unexplainable happens after these fights. Whenever, we are brought in front of the adults to state the reason for the fights, l will start shedding tears and sometimes start real crying when it is my turn to state my side of the story.
This happens, not minding if l was the one that came up tops in the fight or if l was the offended party.
Now, an old one, l have always wondered why l break down at those scenes, and have found out that it was my heart condemning me. I could easily avoid these rascally and irresponsible fights.
My heart had taught me that it is wiser to be good than to be right
It is wiser to avoid it than to rectify or try to correct it.
The strong one is the one who concedes the bone of contention, or the one that decides to lose the argument so as to give peace a chance.
Now, an old one, children are brought to me after street and neighbourhood scuffles.
I have learnt that, the crying one is not necessarily the guilty one.
The power that the great creator gave to us, which animals don’t have is the ability to sit down and talk it over. When we give up this power, and resort to violence, cruelty and sadism, we are then no better than animals in the wild.
My wise father said to me, When you are called a Lion or a Tiger, dont feel good about it for you should remember that these are wild animals. Therefore don’t feel bad when you are called a wild animal.
Let us all endeavour to live and love, ourselves and others. May God bless us all today and always in Jesus name as we all endeavour to live together in peace.
