Curled from Frailties of a Pampered Soul by Ihuoma Adaeze Onukwue
Look at them all huddled up
Bundled in and out;
Fallible creatures
In search of a promise
Grasp for things profound
In places of mundane.
Misconstrued ‘grinds’
For the sole purpose of proof
To self and others
Seeking validation, seeking redemption
In a sorry attempt to find- a lost one.
Who can write their story?
Who can sing their song?
Creatures so abstract,
Lifespan is never content
To give them content.
